FAQ

What counts as a "domain"?

One production FQDN, e.g. erp.company.com = one license. We never count servers, CPU cores, projects, or developers. Two non-production (dev/staging) domains are included free, and localhost is always free. Running many subdomains? Ask about Enterprise with wildcard support.

Really no developer-seat limit?

Really. Most enterprise grids charge per developer seat per year; topgrid charges per deployed domain. A team of 3 or 30 pays the same.

How do I apply the license?

Register your key once at app entry with setLicenseKey('...'). Verification runs at runtime (in the browser) and never touches your build/deploy pipeline. Nuxt/Next SSR & SSG safe.

What happens without a key?

Pro components show a small watermark — but everything keeps working. Try it freely first; an evaluation key removes the watermark for 30 days.

What does renewal include?

Subscriptions renew at the same price and include all updates and support. Perpetual licenses (3× annual) include the first year; afterwards optional maintenance keeps updates and support flowing — or keep using your version forever.

Where is the line between Community (free) and Pro?

The 7 core packages — grid, sorting, filtering, renderers, export, the Vue adapter — are MIT and free. Pivot, aggregation, server-side row models, charts, spreadsheet, change tracking, range selection and more make up the 24 Pro packages. See Architecture for the full layout.
